The Big Picture
Research
I have recently transitioned more into theoretical computer science. The signficant amount of this time is going into a project with Henning Basold, Chase Ford and Hao Wang on studying optimization algorithms from a category-theoretic standpoint. We recently submitted our first paper, Central limits via dilated categories, which introduces dilated seminorm-enriched category theory to study central limit-type theorems. The next step is to model stochastic differential equations within the category of diffeological spaces, and eventually to bring in homotopy theory to study homotopical optimization processes.
On the pure maths side, I am working on fixing the issues in some existing papers. I also have some ongoing projects with Jose Moreno-Fernandez.
